Manufacturing Development Contract Received from Boise State University
September 1, 2019 – Boise State University has contracted Shaw Mountain Technology to further develop the manufacturing process of the MSM micropump.
Recipient of STEP Grant from the Idaho Department of Commerce
August 15, 2019 – Shaw Mountain Technology has been awarded a STEP Grant from the Idaho Department of Commerce. The STEP grant is designed to encourage Idaho companies to develop international sales and marketing efforts. Shaw Mountain Technology plan to participate and present at the 4th conference on Microfluidic Handling Systems in The Netherlands.
Second SBIR Phase 0 Grant Awarded From SBDC
September 26, 2017 – Shaw Mountain Technology has been awarded their second SBIR Phase 0 grant from the Idaho Small Business Development Center for developing an SBIR Phase II proposal. Shaw Mountain will use these funds to optimize the MSM micropump and develop manufacturing infrastructure in Idaho.
Prototype Manufacturing Grant from uFluidix
April 15, 2017 – Shaw Mountain Technology has been awarded The Prototyping Grant from uFluidix (Toronto, Canada), a manufacturing company specialized in the scalable manufacturing of lab-on-a-chip and microfluidic devices. This grant will cover production and development costs at uFluidix where the MSM Micropump will be redesigned using professional, scalable manufacturing practices.
Finalist for Idaho Innovation Award – Early-Stage Innovation of the Year
September 20, 2016 – Stoel Rives, in collaboration with the Idaho Technology Council, announced this year’s finalists for the Idaho Innovation Award. Shaw Mountain Technology is one of three finalists for the Early-Stage Innovation of the Year. The nominated innovation is the Magnetic Shape Memory µPump, a new microfluidic technology for research and medicine. The winner will be announced at a Hall of Fame banquet later in October.
July 1, 2016 – Shaw Mountain Technology has been awarded a Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Phase I grant from the National Science Foundation. With this award, SMT will collaborate with Boise State University in developing the MSM micropump for medical and biomolecular research.
First place at the Idaho Entrepreneurial Challenge
April 1, 2016 – Shaw Mountain Technology competed in the Idaho Entrepreneur Challenge, a statewide competition where entrepreneurs vet their business ideas to three separate panels consisting of seasoned business-people, industry experts and technology developers. The judges awarded a cash prize, donated by Zions Bank, to Shaw Mountain Technology for winning the technology category.
STTR Phase 0 Grant Awarded From SBDC
March 15, 2016 – Shaw Mountain Technology has been awarded an SBIR/STTR Phase 0 grant from the Idaho Small Business Development Center for developing an STTR Phase I proposal. SMT aims to identify early adopters to refine the MSM micropump technology to their application.
